Sunday Showcase - Backyard Fence Progress

The fence is coming together...slowly but progress is being made.

Poor Jamie had the instructions for one fence style and the parts for another so he had to move two posts about 2" (I can't remember the exact distance). He'd be done if he didn't have to practically start over. One side is done but I'm saving that pic for the big reveal!

Lincoln tried to help but it went much faster when the kids were playing in the rocks as opposed to helping Daddy set the fence. Maybe by next Sunday it will be done.

Hazel Takes Care of My Plants

I needed someone responsible to make sure my plants didn't die while I was in Florida.

When you want work done, you call on Hazel. She not only loves housework but she a great little gardner. Thanks for taking care of Ma's flowers Hazel!

Violet and her Comic Book Character Braylynn

Following in the footsteps of Michele, Violet is creating a comic book with her friends.

Somehow the artistic gene skipped right by me plus the ability to create a book, novel or even a comic book. While on the other hand, Violet is just like Michele. Artistic and creative. Maybe Bruce will help her get it published on Amazon. Keep it up Violet!

Kindergarten Celebration

While I was gone, Lincoln celebrated his graduation from kindergarten.

They no longer call it a graduation but a celebration. What's the difference. He's now a first grader!

Florida Get Away

I can't believe it's been 4 years since Debbie, Robin and I went to Florida for our annual girls' trip.

Even the plane ride was exciting. The airport margaritas and drinks on the plane could have contributed to that excitement.

Every minute of the week was well thought out. On Saturday after a day by the pool, we dressed up and went dancing.

The next day was shopping in downtown New Smyrna Beach.

We then decided to take a day to relax, again by the pool.

I also took the opportunity to do my mile hike along the beach.

We also spent a day driving up to St Augustine to check out what is considered the nation's oldest city. Of course there was an outlet mall but we also checked out the historic downtown district.

I  really miss traveling as much as I used to. Maybe this trip will put me in the mood to do more traveling in the near future.

I'm FINE!!!!

I was scrolling through my Facebook feed and saw an advertisement for this shirt.

This is exactly how I feel at the end of most days!

Planting Flowers

Not only does Hazel like house cleaning, she likes to help with planting and watering flowers.

That's good because next week I'll be in Florida and I've asked Hazel to water my plants while I'm gone. I'd ask her to clean me house too but someone else already does that.

Meanwhile, Melissa forgot to take Lola's doggie bag home. I need to save it for when she comes to stay with me in June. Maybe I'll just take her and Khloe to McDonald's one night. They love that.

Sunday Showcase - She Shed

The She Shed isn't completely finished but looks 100% better than right after I moved in.

There were boxes of stuff to be donated sitting around the garage for weeks and not very organized. I guess I didn't throw away enough stuff before I moved.

I was never so glad to see a donation truck pull up to the house as I was when Big Brothers and Big Sisters donation showed up this past week. I still have pictures to hang and trying to decide if I want to paint the walls but for now it's livable. Having a third bay in a garage for one person is amazing!

Muddin'

Trish and I went to Lowry City to my high school friend's daughter's greenhouse grand opening. Now the greenhouse isn't actually in Lowry City. It's half way between Lowry City and Clinton. If you know Missouri, there's absolutely nothing between cities and I'm not even sure you can call Lowry City a populous city. Now I'm digressing.

The greenhouse is situated in a gravel parking lot along side a couple antique stores. Not only was this a grand opening for the greenhouse but it was Spring Market Days for Lowry City. For such a small city the parking area was packed. I had to park in the grass through the mud. Getting in wasn't bad. Getting out was another story. My car was stuck in the mud. After a few attempts at backing up, then pulling forward, I was finally able to get my car out of the mud. To top it all off, instead of helping, Trish was filming my dilemma to post on Instagram. Needless to say my first stop when I got home was the car wash.

Sunday Showcase - A New Plant

I've had this idea of what kind of plant I want in my guest room. I've seen these leafy plants with pink and green leaves and thought that would be perfect.

Earlier this week I went with a friend from high school down to Lowry City. Her daughter just opened a new green house. I couldn't believe she had my plant. Of course I took my planter with me and asked her to plant them for me. This is just a few days old. There's actually 6 small baby plants in this planter. I'm going to post progress as the plant continues to grow. She's thinking it should get pretty big and round. Let's hope I don't kill it although I'm usually pretty good with plants.
