A Small Change

I have always had plants in my bay window in the kitchen. Through the years, water has leaked and caused damage to the stained wood.
Michele came up with the brilliant idea of painting the seat to match the wall color and add a couple of throw pillows. I think the result looks amazing. I added the small runner since I still need a home for my African violet. Check that chore off my list!

More Roof Progress

It's amazing how much can change in just a few days.

Four days ago when I checked on my house, there was just plywood on the roof. Now there's tile. Hopefully things continue to move this fast.

There's a Roof!

Progress is moving fast with my new house.

I now have a roof (part, no tile yet but it's stacked neatly on the side of the house), walls and studs inside plus a few windows.

Even the back is looking pretty impressive.

My only concern, so far, is the transom windows in the garage. Not exactly what the realtor explained I was getting but I'm sure it was just a miscommunication. At least I have light in my garage. I'm crossing my fingers my builder will call this Friday and schedule a walk-thru for electrical placement (requested by me). I'm sure I'm pushing the envelope but a girl can always dream.

Pool Day

My former co-workers and I try to get together as often as possible. With our busy schedules, trips, grandkids, and daily lives, it makes it a little hard to find a day that works for all of us.

Robin, Regina and I have been getting together for the past 10 years (since Regina and I retired). It's rare to find relationships that continue that long. Our adventure was at Regina's clubhouse pool. While we were there, the high school swim team was doing some type of photo shoot. Besides our constant gabbing, they did provide a pretty entertaining show. Our next adventure has already been cancelled and rescheduled. We'll see if we can pull off our Top Golf outing in August.

Progress on the New House

I drove by my new house today and there's definitely progress being made.

I had to dodge all the trucks and builders but this is the front of the house...entrance, office, 2 car garage and the third garage.

Around back I get a little more confused. The bumped out flooring in the back I believe is the dining room. There's a big drop off past the greenery and I'm not quite sure how much back filling will be done so I'm not sure how many steps to the patio...maybe 3? Anyway it's a lot better than looking at a vacant lot!

Michele Moves to Colorado

It's official. Michele and Bruce have moved to Colorado...well almost. They have their first inspection on their new house but Michele is staying in Colorado. Bruce has to fly back to St Louis, supervise the loading of the moving truck, then drive back to Colorado.

This is a picture of their new house taken about a week ago. They're supposed to close around the 18th of June. Hopefully the water is turned on and they don't have to use the port-a-potty although Michele did call and said they've removed it from the property.

Michele's refrigerator broke about a month ago and she didn't want to buy a new one so she's been living out of a mini fridge. Not so bad when you're trying to get ready to move but horrible when you want ice for your Dr Pepper or your daily Atkins shake. They stopped by my house on their way to Colorado just so I could fix her a shake. It's hard to believe there won't be any more spur of the moment over night stays. Colorado is much farther away than St Louis. She'll probably fly down to visit. Me....I'll probably drive. Lucky for her I have other friends just an hour away from her that I can also visit.

Michael Turns 40!

I absolutely cannot believe I have a son who's 40 years old.

To celebrate hitting the big "40", I reserved 2 bays at Top Golf. Melissa, Jamie, Violet, Lincoln, Hazel and I used one bay and Michael and his friends used the bay right next to us. I have to admit it was one of the best birthday parties when you want to include both family and friends.
I'm not sure why I started this birthday sombrero picture. I think it was because we used to go to Mexican restaurants and they would sing Happy Birthday at your table with a sombrero. With the pandemic, that couldn't be done...thus the sombrero.
I wanted Michael to feel as special as possible so I got him a shirt to commemorate the big day. It's not easy getting Michael to wear clothes he doesn't pick out himself but he either liked it or was just accommodating me. In actuality, the shirt is exactly Michael. "Who knew 40 could look this good". Happy Birthday Michael. If anyone asks how old you are and we're together, tell them your Mother had you at 15! LOL

Pre-Birthday Dinner

Since we were doing Top Golf instead of our usual family dinner, Teresa and Brad met Michael and me at Harrah's for a little pre-birthday dinner.
I had a memory pop up on Facebook of a picture I took of Michael and me on his birthday 2 years ago. Besides different clothes, the pose is exactly the same. How many ways can you take a selfie?

High School Friends

Everyone always says "Let's get together sometime" and that includes the friends you made in high school.
Well we've got a pretty good group who continues, or rather is starting, to get together monthly. This month's gathering was at Salty Iguana. I must admit there were a couple of people there I didn't know. I could remember their names from high school but just couldn't place them. I guess that's what 50 years does to you!
