Hazel Turns 4 Years Old

With a big birthday party o Saturday, Hazel's 4th birthday was more of a family celebration.

First stop, Sky Zone where Hazel accomplished walking all the way across the balance.

My neck began to hurt swiveling my neck back and forth between Hazel, Violet and Lincoln each wanting me to watch their individual accomplishments.

They're all getting good good at their jumping , climbing and balance skills.

Next it was off to Chick Fil A for a favorite birthday lunch.

Hazel was able to write her name on the birthday shirt. Not her best work but I consider her to be my Jackson Pollock painter. Everything must be done her way with no help from anyone else. Happy Birthday Hazel!

Hazel's Pre Birthday Party

Having a birthday during the week means you get a pre-party on the weekend.

Hazel's Peppa Pig pre-Birthday Party kicked off on Saturday with friends and family, food, pictures, breaking a piƱata and cotton candy.

And let's don't forget the cake. Such a cute idea to arrange the cupcakes in a number 4.

So many things going on that it makes me tired just thinking of it all. But Hazel enjoyed it and that's all that mattered.

Violet Turns 10 Years Old!

I can't believe I have a granddaughter who is now 10 years old. I couldn't believe Melissa turned 40 either but things happen.

Melissa decided to do a scavenger hunt type birthday party for Violet and 4 of her friends. The first clue took them to Violet's favorite place for lunch - Chick Fil A.

On to Target to continue their scavenger hunt.

Then off to a nail salon for manicures or pedicures.

The last stop was my house for ice cream cake. I never do things simply. Friday Teresa came over to help me put together a balloon arch. Even though it took us 4 hours to put together, nothing is too good for my Violet.

Melissa was so caught up in Violet turning a milestone 10, she had a company come put a huge Happy Birthday decoration in their front yard.

The day ended with a taco bar at the Taylor's and a picture of Violet in the birthday shirt.

Even Violet was tired after that long day but t was all so much fun! By the way, the balloon arch didn't go to waste. Teresa loaded it up in her car to take to the Taylor's. Lincoln and Hazel had a ball popping most of the balloons. Violet did want to keep a few of them. Happy Birthday Violet. I can't wait to see what next year brings.

St Patrick's Day Concert

The Nace Brothers is one of my favorite local bands so when I heard they were playing at Knuckleheads, Aunt Pammy and I quickly bought tickets for the show and we decided to drag Trish along with us.

The best thing about the concert was it started at 6:00 and was over by 8:00. Late nights are hard on us old people!

Lincoln Begins Flag Football

Lincoln has decided to play flag football. As soon as he got to the field he ran out and had a great time practicing.
Too bad flag football is played when it's so cold outside. I'm going to do my best to attend practices and games just as I did when Michael and Melissa were little.

Family Night at the Mavericks Hockey Game

For Christmas Teresa got the City's suite to the Maverick's hockey game.
Jamie and I used to have season tickets but I didn't remember how cold it could get in the stadium.
Besides being bobble head night, it was also mascot night. Several different mascots from local teams were present for games and pictures.
Being in the suite, we got special visits from some of the mascots.
Hockey has 3 periods and after the 2nd period is what they call "Chuck a Puck" where fans thrown rubber pucks over the glass wall with the hope of landing on the mat with a prize. Michael and Jamie threw the pucks from the suite and even though Michael was close with one of his pucks, someone threw one and knocked it away.
Such a fun gift and a great way to get the family together. By the way, the Mavericks won!
