New Light Switch

Just when you think you're getting things knocked off your To Do list, something else happens. I've been packing for my cruise and when I went into the closet and flipped the light switch, the lights didn't come on. I knew it couldn't be the breaker because the bedroom light was on. I tried changing a light bulb even though I couldn't believe all 4 light bulbs would go out at the same time. Still no light. So I called my personal contractor, Jamie Taylor, and he said the switch was probably bad.
How smart can one person be. Sure enough a plastic piece had broken off and the black wire wasn't connected. I've changed many a light and plug switch in my day without turning off the power. But in my older years, I was afraid I might shake or accidentally touch the 2 wires together, so I turned off the breaker. Five minutes later, I had light! Such an easy fix if you know what to look for!

Super Bowl Fever

Super Bowl fever continues in Kansas City with a parade and rally at Union Station. I'm a big Chiefs fan but not foolish enough to fight a million people, 20* weather and snow to attend the parade.
Michael is a huge Chiefs fan and even he wasn't going to the parade and rally.....until he was offered a VIP pass to attend. He boarded a bus at Arrowhead stadium with a police escort to Union Station and watched the parade on the big screen inside Union Station.
After the parade and before the rally, the Chiefs all gathered inside Union Station before taking the stage to make speeches but they were off in another area and the VIP guests were not able to mingle with them. Michael went outside, close to the stage to take pictures of the rally.
Violet and Lincoln had one of the best seats in the house. A picnic lunch in front of the TV in their warm house. That's how I watched it!

Chiefs Win the Super Bowl and Trish's 40th Birthday

What a day for firsts. Not only is the date a unique palindrome (02/02/2020) but it was Trish's 40th birthday and the Chiefs won the Super Bowl after 50 years of waiting for that second win.
Trish had a Super Bowl party at her house complete with all the tailgate food you could imagine. I might also mention Trish has a twin sister, Stephanie, so another 2 to add to the uniqueness.
Even the kids joined the adults even though Trish had a whole play area upstairs for them.
But the best pic of all was little Hazel, my own little Mahomie baby. Happy Birthday, Trish and Stephanie. May your 41st birthday be just as exciting.
