Happy Birthday Melissa

I started off Melissa's birthday with the gift of a pedicure. Something she hardly ever gets to do.

The best part for her was not having to chase kids around for an hour.

We all gathered for dinner at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. Mexican restaurants used to gather around the table, give the person having a birthday a sombrero and sing Happy Birthday. With the pandemic that no longer happens. So I bought my own Mexican sombrero that will now be used for every birthday for the rest of the year.

Luckily our gathering didn't exceed the 10 person maximum and everyone had a great time. Happy 38th Birthday, Melissa.

Clean Out the Storage Room

Next job out of the fishbowl.....clean out the storage room. My way of cleaning isn't quite the same as most people.

First you take everything out of the storage room then one by one you either put the item back or put it in the garage sale/donation/trash pile. This is 13 years of yard art and holiday decorations, mostly Christmas items. You wouldn't believe how many Christmas and birthday bags I've saved only to buy new ones.

After carefully going through each bin, this is what I'm giving away. If you see anything you want, let me know.

And now this is what my storage room looks like and some of those bins are empty. The move to my new house will be somewhat lighter!

Bowling with Friends

There are a few friends I get together with for lunch. Regina suggested we go to Main Event and bowl a few games instead of sitting at a table in a restaurant and talking.

Robin and I agreed, but I swear Regina is trying to kill us one activity at a time. The next day I could hardly move. We bowled 5 games which was probably 4 more games than we should have. I used muscles my body didn't even know I had. Maybe I need to get up off the couch a little more!

Fishbowl Jobs

I'm working on getting my house ready to sell for when my new home gets built. I've created a "fishbowl" of jobs that need to be done. Mostly getting rid of things I haven't used for years and a few touchup jobs around the house.

The first thing I pulled out of the fishbowl was my portrait wall in my office. They say you shouldn't have personal pictures around your house when trying to sell it. So I took all the pictures off the wall and filled all the holes. Looks like I moved the pictures around a little too often. Oh well, one job done!

2021 Resolutions

I don't want to put a lot of stress on myself by creating a list of resolutions for 2021 that I know I won't be able to keep. With everything that's going on with the coronavirus, I'm just hoping my world will go back to a somewhat normal. I will keep my goal of reaching 3,000,000 steps. I want to lose a few pounds, well to be honest, many pounds. But the biggest goal of all is to try and keep my blog updated.

Boy, that gave me stress just thinking about it. Wish me luck!

Happy New Year

While I thought 2021 was supposed to be a better year, I woke up New Year's morning to 3" of snow and a half inch of ice underneath. Not something to put me in a better frame of mind.

The only good thing about the snow was the 3" total which meant the HOA would shovel the driveways.

Poor Michael had to go to work. At least he has a good attitude about it and his new Chiefs stocking cap. Hopefully this isn't a preview of the coming year. I'm hoping for much better times. Happy New Year!
