Violet's Last Day of School

What started as an exciting last day of school for Violet turned into a tearful ending.
Violet was all dressed up and excited about her last day as a kindergartner. Her hair was fixed. She had on her new clothes. Even Jamie was able to get home in time to take her to school.
I was at Melissa's at the required time to get in car line for that final last day of school pick up. I even had my camera ready to take a Snapchat of Violet skipping to the car. But instead she was in tears. She was so sad that she wasn't going to see her teacher again.
Even a trip to Menchie's for frozen yogurt couldn't cheer her up. I guess not all kids are wild about school being out for the summer. Maybe she realized she'd have to be home with Lincoln and Hazel and no longer have her quiet time at school.
On the other hand, I made the 2019 Mason Elementary School yearbook. This is the picture of me, Violet, Benton and his grandmother, Monica. I went to high school with Monica. Cheer up Violet. Before you know it summer vacation will be over and you'll be off to school as a first grader.

Hazel Turns 2 Months Old

So far Hazel's monthly birthdays have fallen on other holidays.
1st month, Michele's birthday, 2nd month, Memorial Day.
Melissa has been making a collage of all three at the some monthly age. I can't seem to find a resemblance in any of them. Maybe Hazel has Violet's eyes and Lincoln's mouth. They each sure have their own style.
I didn't do any grilling on Memorial Day but I spent a few hours with my favorite people. I still think they look like me!!

Spring Flowers

In between all the rain showers I was able to put out a few flowers.
I went with a yellow and red theme instead of my usual purple accents. I still stick with petunias, not only because they bloom all summer but they smell so good.
The rain has been a blessing with keeping everything watered. One of my favorites is these two metal chairs. I've thought of looking for a table to go between them but the wind would probably blow off any plant I put on it.
The hummingbirds are back and enjoying the sweet nectar from the feeder. There are two of them. I'm not sure if it's the same two hummingbirds from last year but they look the same to me. Hummingbirds are very territorial and it's fun to watch when both of them show up at the same time. They literally dive at each other to keep the other away from the feeder.
Since Violet's school days were extended until the end of May because of so many snow days, I opted for flowers instead of a waiting for her to put in a fairy garden. I was going to put a few of the fairy garden pieces in between the flowers but I miscounted and had way too many plants. Let's just hope the summer isn't scorching hot and everything dies!

Mother's Day Weekend

Michele popped in for Mother's Day weekend.
This time she got to experience "car line". That's how you pick up Violet from kindergarten. You arrive 45 minutes before school lets out and try to be the first in line to pick your kid up from school. Michele was impressed with the organization of the kids walking to their cars and not running and screaming.
Michael and Jamie both had to work on Mother's day so Trish, her sister Stephanie, Melissa and I spent the afternoon eating pizza and playing with the Violet, Lincoln and Hazel.
Whether your kids are grown or just babies, all Mothers love to hear Happy Mother's Day....oh and gifts, we love gifts! Even if it's just working in the yard or power washing your deck (hint, hint)!

Baby Hazel is 6 Weeks Old

Baby Hazel is already 6 weeks old.
She is smiling quite a bit but she's still in that sleep most of the time mode. Violet and Lincoln still thinks she's pretty special. It will be interesting to see what happens in another month when Violet is on summer vacation from school and all three of the kids will be vying for Melissa's attention.

Las Vegas

I recently returned from Vegas once again trying to escape the crazy Missouri weather. I also went to see my new friends Frank and Gloria from my cruise.
Vegas is so crowded that when you walk out on the streets you're just moving with a pack of people hoping not go in the wrong direction lost in the crowd. The only picture I got was of a small jackpot I won. I thought of taking other pictures while outside but it either slipped my mind or the crowd was moving too fast. I wasn't a big winner - who does - but I did stick within my budget! That's a BIG win for me!
