Princess Night at the Hockey Game

It was princess night at the Maverick's hockey game - two things I wouldn't necessarily associate together but whatever gets the fans out.
Violet was all excited to wear her princess dress to the game. It may not look like she's having a good time but Violet prefers smaller crowds. When we walked in the door Mac the mascot was right there to greet us. Now Mac is a rather imposing character and Violet really didn't want him getting too close.
She was more interested in visiting the booth to get her balloon character of Mac.
This was also Lincoln's first hockey game. He did pretty good watching from the top while Melissa bounced him around.
But every once in a while she got to sit down. A hockey game is 3 - 20 minute periods. We're lucky to make it through 2 periods before Violet is ready to go to Ma's house. Jamie and I are going to have to sneak out to a game by ourselves if we want to watch a whole game.

Happy Birthday Melissa!

It's hard enough to admit my true age, but now I have to tell people my "baby" is 33! Violet wasn't in the best of moods when they arrived at Harrah's for dinner. But I was well prepared.
What's a party without hats and horns! Luckily the horns were silent and they didn't kick us out of the buffet. Happy Birthday Melissa! Maybe sometime in the near future you can celebrate your birthday in style and not have to rock a crying baby all day!

Lincoln - 2 Months Old

It's true what they say about second children - they don't get as much attention as the first. I can remember after Violet was born, we were taking pictures of every move she made.
But here it is, 10 days after Lincoln turned 2 months old and I'm finally getting around to posting his picture.
Since his 2 month picture, he's grown even more. Grandma Eddie used to say "when they're sleeping, they're growing." Lincoln fights every minute of sleep. I'm surprised he's grown at all.

New Year New Goals

I'm not sure why I wanted to go to Vegas for New Years Eve but when Karen said she wanted to go too we made plans to go.
Both of us were excited waiting to board the plane for Vegas. We were lucky enough to get the exit row seats. Only 2 seats in that row so there's a little more room.
When we got to Vegas our limo driver was waiting and no luggage was lost. Even our plane was on time.
This time I wanted to stay at Planet Hollywood. This is the view from our room. Planet Hollywood is adjacent to the Miracle Mile shopping mall. These are more reasonably priced stores than the ones across the street at the Aria which include Gucci and Prada.
But then I remembered why I don't like Vegas on New Years Eve - the crowds. I tried so hard to go outside at midnight but the crowd prevented me from even getting near the door. And the temperatures where so cold that I wasn't about to go out any earlier just to watch the fireworks. I later found out that I could have seen the fireworks from my hotel room window.
We went to Gordon Ramsey Burgers New Years night. Being a Seven Star card holder with Harrah's gives you certain privileges that others don't have. We were seated immediately, the couple behind us was told there would be a 2 hour wait. I always feel uncomfortable going to the front of the line especially when other people start complaining, but the burgers were so good. They cook them over an open grill using apple wood.
All too soon it was time to come home. I'm not sure what I'm looking at here but I was mesmerized by the red color. Maybe we were flying over the Grand Canyon. With a new year comes new resolutions. I've made a few and after only 8 days into the year I've done pretty well keeping them. I'm exercising, eating healthy and trying to keep up with my blog. I said trying. Happy New Year!
