After several weeks of teachers trying to decide about what to do with the end of the school year, they finally just sent an e-mail and said "we're done".
So Violet's last day of first grade was celebrated with a quick pic in the front yard and no more e-learning. This pandemic is sure creating a lot of mixed emotions for everyone right now. Who knows what the future will bring. But Violet is now officially a second grader. My, she's growing so fast!

Lincoln's Last Day of School
With schools being closed due to the coronavirus, Lincoln's preschool decided to have a drive-by celebration for the last day of school.
The parents drove their child through the school parking lot to say good bye to their teachers. Drastic times call for drastic measures. Hopefully this pandemic will subside and school will resume in the Fall.

Home Schooling
I was at Melissa's today so I stepped in and helped Violet with her home schooling. Today's assignment was to write an acrostic poem. First I had to find out what "acrostic" was! Violet's favorite things are fairies so naturally her poem was about a fairy.
Violet is very much an overachiever. So not only did she write her poem with fancy lettering, she added art work. I'm so glad I don't have to home school. I wouldn't be able to handle the stress of every day learning. And don't get me started on the new math!!!!!!!

A Little Hernia Surgery for Lincoln
Poor Lincoln had a hernia and had to have surgery.
With the coronavirus, only one parent is allowed with the child. You can imagine Melissa's stress knowing that one of her children was going to be in a hospital having surgery without her.
Needless to say, the surgery was a success and Lincoln made it through with flying colors...a little groggy but good as new.

Mother's Day
This has to have been one of the best Mother's Day I've ever had.
Michael and Jamie power washed the house....
While Violet, Lincoln and Hazel rode their bikes.
Jamie and I made a run to Home Depot for my new Mother's Day grill then Violet, Lincoln and Hazel finished the Fairy Garden.
The day before Michael sent me this beautiful bouquet of flowers. We're still debating whether it's a dog or a bear...I'm going with a dog.
Even though I have to share Mother's Day with Melissa (who is also a great Mom...she gets it from me!) I couldn't be happier.
I have the best kids!
As an added bonus, Mother's Day was the day Hazel decided to take her first steps. Lots of things to celebrate this Mother's Day!
