Carpet Disaster

Just before I left on my cruise I went downstairs to get a suitcase and the carpeting by the storage room was completely soaked. I opened the storage room door and it looked like someone had taken a garden hose and sprayed the room. As it turned out the check valve (?) to the sump pump had broken in two and instead of the water being pumped outside it was sprayed in the storage room and flooded the back end of my basement.

After a quick call to Jamie he came by and replaced the valve. We pulled the carpet back, removed the wet padding and set up fans.

Three weeks later everything is back together. Oh the joys of owning a home!
