I've done many Do It Yourself projects at home. I've hung wallpaper, painted walls, gutted a kitchen, textured walls, replaced electrical outlets, wired ceiling fans, but I've never laid tile. So when my basement flooded and ruined my carpet, I decided to tile the basement to prevent future disasters.
My first lesson was cutting tile.
After a demonstration from Michael, I cut my first piece. Then a second, third, fourth and so on. Not difficult, just loud and wet.
Things went smoothly. We finished the kitchen area then started on the transition tile for the rest of the basement.
After 4 hours my body was screaming to stop. Not bad for my first attempt. On to day 2.
